Day 54 – The Great Japan Plan

During a free period, Aaron and Jack discussed the possibility of using a new 3D printer filament, CPE. The filament has excellent toughness with resistance to chemicals and temperatures up to 70 ˚C, dimensional stability over longer periods of time, and it’s ideal for short run manufacturing and functional prototypes.

We also discussed:

  • A new wheel system with an optional track that can be easily slipped on over the top of the wheels.
  • Different processing board/computer, with far more power.
  • Custom designed board to serve as the motherboard of the robot. All other boards/devices can be plugged into the board and locked in
  • New sensors, maybe including a laser for mapping.
